The MLK Peace Bench Project honors the legacy of
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. & his commitment to
social justice & service. The goal of the MLK
Peace Bench project is to strengthen community bonds,
bridge communities, & stimulate interaction and
dialogue between children, adults, friends, families
& neighbors.
The 2009 MLK Day of Service will commerate Hands
On Central Texas' year-long commitment to the MLK
Peace Bench Project. Throughout the year, 100 MLK
Peace Benches were placed in neighborhood & community
centers, schools, nonprofits & churches ensuring
the legacy of Dr. King continues in our community.
