Hands On Central Texas
About Hands On Central Texas Back To Main

Hands On Central Texas connects people with meaningful, high quality volunteer experiences. We engage more than 10,000 Central Texans in volunteerism annually, and empower people to make volunteering a regular part of their lives.

Hands On Central Texas is dedicated to volunteering on a flexible basis, providing opportunities that allow you to volunteer when you can and for what you care about.

We never require an ongoing commitment, although we should warn you: the more you volunteer, the more you’ll want to volunteer!

Here’s how we work: Hands On Central Texas creates and builds relationships with hundreds of nonprofits that need volunteers. Then we recruit and deploy reliable, enthusiastic groups of volunteers who get the job done.

We encourage volunteers to participate in projects offered through community-wide events such as our MLK Day of Service or United Way Days of Caring. We also offer an online database and calendar filled with ongoing volunteer opportunities, making it easy to connect with the project that’s right for you.

Hands On Central Texas is a program of United Way Capital Area and a member of the Points of Light & Hands On Network, whose mission is to inspire and mobilize to become engaged, take action and solve community problems, with affiliates in over 300 U.S. and international locations.
