Culture Connections Back To Main

Culture Connections, a vital initiative of Hands on Central Texas and United Way Capital Area, supports communities of color and other diverse populations by promoting volunteerism and linking people to volunteer projects and opportunities that are relevant to their communities and address important community needs. Culture Connections represents populations including the African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian and faith-based communities and others.

Culture Connections Goals
  • Raise level of awareness regarding community engagement
  • Connect individuals/groups with existing opportunities
  • Collaborate with organizations for special projects
  • Keep connection with volunteers
Action Plan
  • Garner community support through dialogue with community leaders
  • Conduct a community assessment of volunteerism in target populations
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote community engagement
